Take Care Nurse Practitioners diagnose and treat common family illnesses such as ear infections, sore throat, pink eye, allergies, poison ivy and upper respiratory infections for patients 18 months and older. They are licensed to write prescriptions and also administer basic diagnostic screenings and vaccinations for Flu, Meningitis, Hepatitis B and Tetanus.

Through a patient-first philosophy, Take Care Nurse Practitioners work in a team-based approach with the medical community to maintain optimal referral networks and continuity of care for patients. They use an electronic medical record system, providing printed copies of the visit record to the patient, and faxing or communicating with the patient's primary care provider upon request. Take Care Health encourages all patients to have a primary care provider. If a patient doesn't have such a provider, nurse practitioners will provide a list of health care practices in the area accepting new patients.

Take Care Health has worked with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City since January 2006.
